    1. Set during the Great Depression, this story is a re imagining of O Henry s The Gift of the Magi, only featuring a mother and daughter instead of a couple.

    2. Sweet, tear inducing story inspired by an old classic I do wish that the pictures were spread out better within the written pages for my 6 year old s sake However, it still had the rapt attention of my 6 and 8 year old sons This book is worthy of an adult s reading clear down to a mature picture book reader.

    3. This is a sweet story perhaps a bit too sweet and bland for my tastes and is a nice re telling of Gift of the Magi Of course, it s predictable for adults, but children would probably be surprised by the gifts that Mama and Grace give each other Nice, gentle story with fabulous illustrations by Jim Burke.
