I had never heard of this mystery writer until I ran across one of her short stories It was such a good story that I immediately looked up her novels A Death in the Life is a good, entertaining book, with a complex protagonist It doesn t follow the usual formulas of mystery fiction except that there is a murder and it gets solved It s not the greatest mystery novel I ever read, but it was good enough that I am reading another book by the same author I recommend it
