    1. Oliver Stark released his debut novel American Devil in 2010 which I devoured and absolutely loved Sometimes when an author produces such a great debut there is an impending sense of doom Maybe the next one won t be as good How can it be with such a great start Thankfully Oliver Stark has not only produced a great debut, he has produced a second book that is equally as good.I downloaded the Kindle version and didn t realise that his second book is no less hefty than the first coming in at just u [...]

    2. If you like your murder mystery novels fast paced and gritty oh and a seriously deranged killer tooen this book is for you That being said I did work it out almost immediately but this did not distract

    3. 88 Killer by Oliver StarkPublished by Headline, 23 August 2011 ISBN 978 0 7553 7014 6The story covers an eighteen day period, beginning with the abduction of a young girl Detective Tom Harper of the NYPD currently investigating two homicides suspects that there is a possibility that the three cases are linked Still recovering from a horrendous ordeal when she was kidnapped and imprisoned is psychologist Dr Denise Levern, who has now returned to work. This is a chilling story, in fact a frightenin [...]

    4. This is a good fast paced crime thriller that follows Tom Harper and Denise Levene as they chase a killer through the streets of New York, all the while dealing with their own demons and fears The story itself is cleverly interwoven with three different crimes merging into one complete with a surprising and ingenious historical tie in on a subject few are willing to face head on Having said that none of the characters felt that new to me with Harper playing the world weary detective, Levene the [...]

    5. Oliver Stark writes brilliant thrillers, and I found this second book in his series to be even exciting than the first, American Devil In this one, NYPD detective Tom Harper and psychologist Denise Levene must stop a serial killer of Jews who is motivated by hatred Each crime scene is marked by the number 88, used by anti Semitic hate groups to mean HH, or Heil Hitler The number also refers to an 88 word rant from Mein Kampf, a text that the killer is obsessed with.If you love a good thriller, [...]

    6. Strong characters I ve become quite the fan of Tom Harper and that s why I continued reading even though the suspense was killed quite early in the book with the killers identity being fairly obvious from the cologne clues I didn t enjoy it quite as much as American Devil but would still like to have the series continued

    7. This police procedural novel compares favorably to the John Sandford Prey series or the Chris Carter series featuring Robert Hunter.Fast paced and suspenseful, this page turner is right on the money with short paragraph and punchy dialogue A very good read, can t wait fir his next one The Swallow coming this August.

    8. This was a present from a friend who works in book publishing While the story was well paced and enough was explained that I didn t have to go back and read the prequel, my main problem was that I guessed the killer long before the story ended, something that I very rarely can do I much prefer a surprise right at the end and a How could I have not noticed that

    9. Really good book As I got closer to the end it became harder and harder to put down It was slow at first and a little hard to get into, but that may have had a little to do with me never reading the first book

    10. Fast paced thriller that keeps the reader interested until the very end Predictable at times but Stark writes very well and his descriptions make for some very gruesome mental pictures.

    11. It was relatively enjoyable but by no means the best crime novel I ve read It felt a bit like an episode of Criminal Minds and as we all know, Criminal Minds is best watched, not read.
