    1. The best thing about this book is I learned about the island St Kitts Unfortunately the middle part of this book gets bogged down in history Otherwise, it is pretty cute.

    2. The JourneyCarol Ottley Mitchell s Adventure at Brimstone Hill is an exciting children s story that educates with true events from history This short story involves three characters Mark, Ingrid, and Mark s pet monkey Chee Chee and their travel back in time during a field trip The author has a vivid imagination and paints excellent pictures giving the reader an idea of the scenery throughout the story There are no editing issues, but I do believe some of the words are a bit strong for young read [...]

    3. This book was chosen for my international book group It is the first in a series of Caribbean historical fiction written for children probably 7 and up It tells of the battles between the French and the English to protect and capture the island of St Kitts The children in the story go back in time and get involved in these important battles The story is basic without too much detail but still provides a general history of what really happened.

    4. A great first book from Caribbean author Carol Mitchell The characters came alive and you felt like you were in the adventure with Mark and Chee Chee Read all of the books in the series to learn about Chee Chee, the monkey and the Caribbean.

    5. Carol Ottley Mitchell has created a Caribbean Adventure Series that sneaks in history and culture in an engaging chapter book The child characters are believable and I want to read the next in the series I wish that the illustrations were larger, but that is a simple format issue.

    6. Adventure set in the Caribbean, taking readers on an informative and exciting time travel into the past of the area Quick read that younger readers will surely enjoy.
