    3. I received Lost Christmas as a Christmas pressie from my Mum and Dad I originally planned to keep it until December of this year, so I would be reading a Christmassy book around Christmas, but had to pick it up on my Mum s insistence Why Well, she wants to watch the film Lost Christmas which we recorded when it was on last month She s not the type of person who can watch movies based on a book or movies where a book version has been writen as is the case with Lost Christmas without reading the b [...]

    4. Finished this book in about 3 hours, granted it s not an overly hard read and could have gotten rather confusing at the end, but it still stayed nice and simple.I am looking forward to the movie, since the book probably one of the few was based on the movie script rather than the movie being based on the book.It s a perfect Christmas book and reminds you of all that you have to be thankful for at this time of year, the book is on a similar vein to It a Wonderful Life If you are after a rather he [...]

Ten year old Goose s life unravels when his parents are killed in a car accident on Christmas Eve Living with his mentally declining grandmother and beloved dog, he starts breaking into houses and stealing One year later, on Christmas Eve, he meets a mysterious stranger with mystical powers Relying on him to help find his missing dog, Goose learns how his actions affect others and how our lives are intertwined This reminds me of Mitch Alboms booksybe not the most engrossing books when you are re [...]

    7. I wanted to read this book to get into the christmas mood and I m so glad I did This could possibly be the best book I have read this year I really was touched by Goose and felt great empathy for him I really liked the twist at the end and felt it really completed the book to give it such a heartwarming, magical, Christmassy feel to it Would definitely recommend to anyone for a festive read and I cant wait to watch the movie

    8. Welcome to the world of Richard Thornhill, better known as Goose throughout most of the book Little does Goose know, as he wakes up one Christmas Eve morning, that his whole world is about to change Going downstairs after hearing some unusual noises, he comes face to face with his parents and his Nan, all of whom are trying to hide something from him It is not long before the secret is out, and Goose becomes the happiest boy on earth but, shortly afterwards, his whole world comes tumbling down a [...]

    9. I m going to be honest I picked up this book in the shop as I had been asked to review a children s Christmas themed book I had never heard of this book or of the author but I m a sucker for topical reads just to see what all the fuss is about This book drew me in, as had the headline, Now a major film starring Eddie Izzard and thanks to the rather obvious title, was a quick win to meet the task at hand. So, it was fair to say that I started reading this book feeling a bit meh as it isn t somethi [...]

    10. Last year I watched the BBC TV film Lost Christmas with Eddie Izzard I found it an incredibly moving and very beautiful film, so I was excited to see that one of the writers, David Logan, has adapted it into a novel.10 year old Goose wakes up one Christmas Eve in his house in Manchester to the sound of a puppy barking He runs downstairs to find his parents unsuccessfully trying to hide a mongrel puppy Goose is full of plans to play with him, but then his firefighter dad receives a call and has t [...]

    11. This novel is set in Manchester, Uk, where I live and I discovered this story last Christmas 2011, when the BBC released the film starring Eddie Izzard I am a huge fan of Eddie Izzard and Christmas so could not wait for the film, it was a great twist on a Christmas story and not a storyline I had seen before After loving the film I did a bit of research and found that it was originally a book by David Logan.I saw the book a couple of weeks ago in Asda and could not resist it being the Christmas [...]

    12. Although I somehow managed to miss the film when it was originally shown I was persuaded to read this book by a lovely review I read and I am so very glad I discovered Lost Christmas This is a wonderful story and a perfect Christmas read for teens and maybe those a little younger In all honesty I think it is a perfect Christmas read full stop Although heartbreakingly sad in places it is one of those stories that you feel better for having read Goose, the main character, around whom the story rev [...]

    13. This book came into my life via Giveaways, and because it s Christmas thought this would be the perfect time of year to read and review it I thought it was pretty good The story was about Goose who has lost his parents last Christmas This Christmas, Goose has began to steal from others But then Goose meets Anthony who is an amnesiac and doesn t know anything about himself But Anthony can find out things about other people just by touching them All of these people have lost something precious to [...]

    14. This is a nice and simple easy read but saying that I absolutely loved it It s so heartwarming and in a few places very sad because you know in these moments through reading the story what is about to happen However I was so impressed that I didn t see the twist at the end and I was thrilled about that it s not often that I get a book and get a completely wow shock moment Everyone is connected to the main characters which I thought was a clever idea but thinking about my life, I have always been [...]

    15. Eddie Izzard It s always good to hear a tale about a little magic at Christmas I was lucky enough to catch this on TV a few years ago and it was fabulous So, naturally, when I saw the book on the 12 days of kindle last Christmas I bought it immediately but had to wait until it was socially acceptable to read a Christmas book As Lost Christmas was actually a film first, and then one of the screenwriter s adapted it into a novel, no new information is given by this book which I was a little disapp [...]

    16. I won this book a couple of years back as part of the website first reads scheme I actually asked to read now, but have only just got round to looking to something nice and easy to read before Christmas It was a nice little story, a kind of modern day retelling of Its A Wonderful Life I actually started reading it expecting not to like it very much, but actually it was a sweet little story even though it did borrow heavily from many other tales Four example, the clue of who Anthony waswas given [...]

    17. When I first started listening to this, I wasn t sure I was going to like it because it seemed so grim and very sad but I m glad I stuck with it It s about a young boy, Goose, who has seemingly lost all that is precious to him Then he meets a strange man who doesn t seem to know who he is yet has visions about the people he and Goose come into contact with Gradually, through Goose getting to know Anthony, he regains all that he thinks he has lost and is redeemed himself in the process In contras [...]

    18. Genre realistic fantasyReading level mediumGrade level 5th I enjoy books that have several stories going at the same time You re aware that they are somehow interconnected but you usually don t find out until how they are connected until the very end Apparently this story started out as a movie or tv series and was then turned into a novel, which is pretty unusual Now I m looking forward to seeing the movie Although a Christmas story, you can pick this up and enjoy it any time of the year.

    19. Unexpectedly lovely and not at all what I was expecting If only real life was like this though A cheap impulse kindle buy that I ignored for three years I really liked this It s a bit all over the place to begin with but quickly comes together A bit of a tear jerker but truly heart warming in traditional Christmas style Doesn t need to be Christmas to read it I see that it s a film but I ll just enjoy it for what I ve read.

    20. I loved this book so much, because of it s orginality I read the whole book on Christmas eve, because I found myself not being able to put it down The character Goose really intrigued me, because of his background and I think his character really potrayed how one selfish act can affect ruin lifes Also it was a real eye opener for me, because it showed how Goose took his parents for granted, and he didn t realise how much he needed them.

    21. I received a free copy of this book through This was such a lovely story to read I hadn t seen the film or heard of the book, I was told about it by an 8 year old who actually wants to borrow this book This book will definitely be on my Christmas to read list, would definitely recommend it its an easy read.

    22. I enjoyed this book, although I have to say I was a little disappointed at first I bought it after seeing the BBC film, and assumed the film was based on a novel Turns out the book was based on the screenplay, so there wasn t a lot that hadn t been seen in the film Still, it was a good easy read, and there were a few extra insights particularly towards the end.

    23. I won this book through This book is a story about a boy named Goose and the choices he made This book is a story of heart wrenching love and loss, with a twist of the super natural It is an awesome read I read this book in one day, as I could not put it down You will not be disappointed, as the story has everything you want in a book.

    24. I ve been meaning to read this after seeing the film, starring Eddie Izzard, last Christmas I finally got round to it and despite knowing the ending I still found it incredibly moving I think this book will become an old favorite one that I reread every Christmas and I ll be watching the film again this year too.

    25. Did you see this on the TV at Christmas The book is every bit as good if not better as it really makes the characters come to life A story to make you think about the consequences of what you do in life but not in a preachy way.

    26. Really uplifting book You feel involved with each set of characters and really care what happens as this story unfolds Confusion at the start but comes into one great ending Really good book which I couldn t stop turning the page

    27. Xmas stories are beginning to wear a bit thin now so it s a blessing when something original and well written comes along My 11 yr old really enjoyed it as well and considering there s no vampires zombies etc in it makes it even remarkable.

    28. Lost Christmas I really like the story of this book and the ending of the story was very surprising, I did not expect it at all.

    29. A nice, easy read in perfect timing for the Christmas season.Definitely made me think of It s A Wonderful Life with a British twist, well written with relatable characters, the plight of man gets all wrapped up in a magical Christmas jumper just in time to be put right.
