    2. This is one of those books where I didn t just love the story, but the whole philosophy behind why things happened the way they did as well And it wasn t as if the story was lacking on the contrary Talk about an ex priest taking on the world, political shenanigans to scare anyone intelligent enough to see what is going on in the real world, not just this book, and a message about love and tolerance that gets delivered so cleverly that it sneaks up on you before you know it.Maurice is one of thos [...]

    3. 3.5 starsQuite engaging paranormal story that deals with demonic possession as well as questioning faith and religious beliefs The two men, Maurice he s an ex priest and Tracy a son of a right wing politician don t really meet until around 1 3 part on my Kindle, but that first 1 3 is building the basis nicely We have Maurice, who is no longer a priest, with his own problems including how he is trying to save a female friend who is a victim of domestic abuse Then there s Tracy, who seems to be he [...]

    4. 3.5 starsThis started off strong and finished with a bit of a weak ending I didn t expect the direction this story was going to take, which was a little bit fantastical for me With the psychological dialogue in the first half, the ending threw me a little bit Plus, the ending felt like it was resolved a little bit too easily.Still, in the end not a bad read I probably would have enjoyed it if I hadn t switched gears there in the middle from what was a psychological thriller to what was an out r [...]

    5. An excommunicated priest Darrell is called to exorcise a politician s son, Tracy in hopes of curing the young man of his promiscuous ways The story was pretty basic yet it was complicated by a mix of flashbacks and subplots which I found unnecessary There s this side story about Jessica who was supposedly a failed attempt of Darrell at exorcism which haunts him throughout the book, and the ex priest never seemed to have found any closure for it yet he found his HEA I also didn t think the whole [...]

    6. A very interesting take on demonic possession ending with the take over of the world The idea of conformity put me ill at ease but worked well for the plot The ending was a bit off for meI feel there might be a sequel because of what happened with the devil demon when it left the body for those who ve read the book of you know who I m talking about. On another note, I thought Maurice was a very likable character I liked that he was honest and straight to the point and didn t beat around the bush. 7. 3.5 rounded up Started off wonderfully, then got less great then really stupid and then good again Review to come eventually.

    8. Reviewed on Hearts On Fire heartsonfirereviews D.J Manly definitely has a winner here with this intriguing story of love amid some powerful politics of our time Maurice Darrell was once a priest but a crisis of faith forced him to walk away from the priesthood Maurice never really fit the mold He was sent to a catholic home for wayward boys at a young age by a cold hearted mother where he was used and abused He became an ordained priest and had a special gift for exorcism Maurice has been living [...]

    9. Whoa Super crazy in a good way.Tired of aggro werewolves and goth vampires Try a little world ending, apocalyptic, fanta politic, religious exorcism just for fun This book goes all out into crazy land I ve got to give it credit for taking the premise and running full out with it It s original, fast paced and entertaining. Not deep literature, but definitely a step up from Siren s book of the week offerings. If you are ok with a defrocked priest questioning his faith go for it.
