    1. What a sweet and tender read Levy s beautifully written slice of life working and studying in Brazil in her youth left me thinking about my own arrival into womanhood Her truthful storytelling interwoven with fascinating descriptions of nature sucessfully blend human relationships with the larger universe A truly wonderful and intelligent book.

    2. A moving story about a promising young woman with ambitions to do good work, but in the 1980s, traveling alone to Brazil proved dangerous if not illuminating Book is beautifully written, and descriptions of the rainforest made me want to travel there Great book.
