    4. This is a REALLY GOOD book If you are an admirer of locked room mysteries, or would simply like to enjoy a book which, rather than describing grisly details of nubile sophos getting slaughtered by crazies, actually adhere to the dictum made famous by SHERLOCK Brainy is the new sexy , then THIS is the right book for you I had come across the name of Paul Halter in several threads where John Dickson Carr and other Golden Age mystery writers are discussed If this book is any reliable example of his [...]

    7. Not as good as the previous Paul Halter s book that I had read Even though I love the crimes feature with sealed room murders, and was intrigued by it at the first place, how it ended didn t seem to satisfy me I admit, the explaination was a good one and good enough, but for some reasons I didn t seem to like it, perhaps one of them was the plot was too confusing, above necessary. The ending, I even anticipated it, for may be it was a style of Halter to end his stories with sort of dramatic and t [...]

    9. I continue to be impressed with Paul Halter, who is living up to his reputation as a modern day John Dickson Carr the master of locked room mysteries The twist at the end of The Fourth Door comes as a complete surprise, but the book is set up so well that it works perfectly I hope John Pugmire continues to translate of Paul Halter s clever French language mysteries.

    10. It is good book Every thing is well explained in the end But I found the final denouement not satisfying Author is a John Dickson Carr fan He tried to incorporate lots of impossible crimes in one book We have 2 locked rooms murders, one person appearing in two places at the same time, no footprints in the snow problems, in a single bookSolution for the locked room with seal was of a hidden passage kind rather than a trick solution, that we find in Carr books None the less a solid book in the lo [...]

    14. An excellent locked room mystery by paul halter. The solution to the murder that happens inside the attic room is truly ingenious. It is just like a clever magic trick where it seems so simple once you know the trick. And to top it,there is one shocking twist at the end of the book as to the identity of a murderer.
