    1. Very nice self contained Omnibus with an ending. The writing is top notch not really a surprised with Jonathan Hickman , the art is average and varies a lot depending on the artist but overall it is good enough to make the story work this wasn t one of the top selling Marvel comic so no hot shot artist was ever on the serie. This book is all about spies, especially Nick Fury, Hydra and Leviathan and it s very refreshing to read a Marvel Comic whose focus isn t super heroes even if a lot of charact [...]

    2. This is a brilliant epic story of espionage It s about all the difficult decisions Fury has to make and all the secrets he keeps which come to fruition This is the ultimate spy story thriller with some brilliant new characters for the marvel universe I d recommend this to anyone It s a clever well thought out story that actually ends perfectly I love a happy ending.

    3. Keeping in mind that I only really started reading comics this year, I have read this series all the way through at least 3 times I suppose it helps that it s only 28 issues long, but it really is a very good series And although it ties in to ongoing events at the time, like Dark Reign, it does a good job of standing on its own, taking a few minor characters who already existed and a few new characters, and making an epic battle of good versus evil I really, really like this series And apparentl [...]

    4. I couldn t finish this I really REALLY tried my best, but i couldn t I lasted until the first issue of the Night storyarc, when I came to realization, the story has not hooked me to keep on reading. There are too many characters to keep track Only a few of them, I actually care about ie Nick Fury, Daisy and Phobos The art was less than solid The coloring was way too muddy.Jonathan Hickman may have the entire story in head and knew what was what, but his execution of it wasn t clear for me.At leas [...]

    5. As with all Hickman series, I feel like this would benefit from a reread There was a lot of detail I didn t get, and by the end those details added up to a significant gap in my understanding Still, I love Hickman s portrayal of Nick Fury, and the members of Daisy s team are also interesting for the most part I m glad I finally finished this one

    6. Somewhat weak opening Bendis , good early on, great in the middle, solid ending Borders on four stars but really only fully earns three.

    7. I have to say, reading characters who are also in Agents of SHIELD was really weird Daisy and Yo yo are so different But also, kind of similar You can see the cores of their characters that both stories share Also, I m still not used to White Nick Fury, but whatever Done comparing it to the MCU, this comic was amazing and intense I m not sure why, but ragtag teams of teens always pique my interest Daisy and her team are all so different and I m looking forward to seeing of them and their dynami [...]

    8. I ve read a lot of Marvel trade collections omnibuses since the Avengers film came out I ve worked my way through ASIN 0785114823 Avengers Disassembled , ASIN 0785117210 House of M , ASIN 078512179X Civil War , ASIN 078513297X Secret Invasion and ASIN 0785140794 Siege along with some of Thor s solo trades, the New Avengers, Mighty Avengers, and Journey into Mystery And, this is the best book I have read of them all. After coming across Fury s Secret Warrior s team a few times within the crossover [...]

    9. Let me start off by saying that I had never been a fan of Nick Fury or SHIELD, I was always way interested in the X Men, Fantastic Four, The Flash, etc not the espionage or military offerings found in comicdom Anyway, upon recommendation, I bit the bullet and purchased this omnibus online for a steal Boy am I glad I did This is one of the best things I ve read all year First off, Nick Fury is awesome here Yeah, you could say he kicks ass, as does his whole team While this book does involve espi [...]

    10. An interesting espionage book set within the Marvel Universe Secret Warriors was the proving ground for Hickman s approach to long form stories and superheroic family dynamics, which later coalesced into his incredible run on Fantastic Four Warriors The earlier arcs God of Fear, and Wake the Beast are the products of Hickman pre planning every minor detail of his story While good, they lack emotional heft Last Ride of the Howling Commandos, Night, and Wheels Within Wheels are the products of a t [...]

    11. When I first heard that Agents of Shield was going to introduce Daisy Johnson and do a storyline based on the Secret Warriors, I was interested by this and so I decided to check out a book based on this character, and this storyline Compared to the tv show I thought it was interesting but I felt sort of confused I really liked the characters, and since I am hearing rumors that Yo Yo Rodriguez or Slingshot has been cast here s hoping the rest of the Secret Warriors will appear on Agents of Shield [...]

    12. This is nearly as good as a graphic novel gets, and belongs on a shelf of mahogany, illuminated by a crystalline meteor that emits the golden light of a newborn star Absolutely perfect story that had the potential to be so much I had read this story once before, while it was still being serialized monthly in comic book form Today s comics tend to lose something in that format, as one must wait a full month between chapters, and my retention suffers a lot in that amount of time But when read in [...]

    13. It just didn t interest me For all the characters and all the detail, it still felt disjointed, like I kept missing parts of the story Some of this might be attributed to all the timeframe reveals, and maybe I just didn t put the pieces together properly in my head For a story this large and with this much detail, it seems to be trying to reach beyond the typical good guy bad guy story But in the end, the good guy beat the bad guy And got a ton of their friends killed in the process.

    14. Truly a fantastic run, one of my favorites of this era My only issue with it is how much it is forced to jump through major cross overs Reading straight through without knowing Marvel continuity makes you feel like you are missing some important elements of the story that are covered elsewhere Also, while I kind of understand it, It is rather surprising that Secret War was not included in this.

    15. Nick Fury the spy of spies has lived a twisty turny shadowed life as the director of SHIELD Now deposed by HAMMER after the events of Secret Invasion he is training a group of warriors and putting together teams to do the work that he s been doing his whole life THE RIGHT THING Twists, and turns, betrayal, death it s all in a day s work for that one eyed man after all you can sleep when you re dead.

    16. As a whole, I m not sure this series works It is so out of order and so confused But it is interesting and has good details And the art is always good, as is the writing Generally I want than that out of series I d like to be able to describe this plot to someone, say a year from now And I doubt I could do that even now.

    17. Suffers a lot from the big crossover event type problems that afflict these kind of projectsmely, that characters show up and have me scrambling to consult to figure out who they are and what they want That said, Nick Fury does a lot of cool badass things here, and that s basically what I bought the book for.

    18. Amazing I ve been wanting some stuff revolving around Nick Fury before, and this was a great jumping on spot Plus, the timeline kinda coincides follows up to the New Avengers Omni I just finished, so it was easy for me to keep up with I d really love to see of Daisy the Warriors in some future storylines

    19. I struggled to determine if i should give this 3 or 4 stars It is a solid book with nice shadow war storytelling However i found the beginning to be very weak Strong middle and end with good hooks to keep you interested I am still confused as to why NF is sam jackson at the beginning.

    20. Nick Fury is a total bad ass and this book is the finest example of it I love all the character development Hickman does for Nick s team There are so many twists and turns but a very satisfying finish Also the art is great Huge fan

    21. Way coherent in a single volume than it ever was as a monthly Hickman is a weird writer who doesn t always make sense, but SECRET WARRIORS is pretty accessible, and he does a good job of turning Daisy Johnson into, like, a SUPERHERO superhero This was fun.

    22. Hickman weaves an extremely complex journey and covers so much ground over the course of his run on Secret Warriors It truly is a Nick Fury epic that will change the way you perceive his moves both in the past as well as the future

    23. I can t say I enjoyed this, slow and going from place to place without any real explanation Still, can t love them all.

    24. This omnibus is the only way to read this story Hickman writes a long con spy masterpiece in the Marvel super hero world In all honesty, one of the best things I have ever read.
