    1. Murder at the Azalea festival was a fun read, as I enjoy stories about the South, especially mysteries However, while entertaining, the writing was a tad on the shallow side, and some of the dialog and plot was much too simplistic I think that if Hunter had spent time to write a longer book, she could have developed some of the characters much fully This is a great little book if you are looking for a fast read on a rainy day, or a long plane trip, and I may continue reading this series, just [...]

    2. 3.25 stars 4 stars After thoroughly enjoying the first two books in this cozy mystery series, I expected of the same Yes, it was another historical cozy about Wilmington, NC with interesting characters, but the book was not as engaging for this reader It took me much longer to read compared with the other books I ve been trying to figure out why since I finished it The main reason is that the characters featured in this particular book weren t as finely drawn by the author Then, the ending felt [...]

    3. This series is a hit or miss with me I love the Wilmington setting and the historical bits The characters leave me hot or cold, depending on the situation in the story Ashley is a fairly likable main character, and I m glad to see NIck back in the story The plot moved along well, but I have to say that the ending just made me shake my head I don t like a resolution that seems pulled out of thin air, and this one struck me that way I ll go on to the next one, but my enthusiasm for the series may [...]

    6. I was surprised to after reading to see that the book was pubbed in 2012 as it had a late 90s, early 2000 feel to it then I saw that it was first published in 2004 There was also a lot of name dropping and the romance seemed to move very quickly Despite that, I enjoyed the story The mystery was well done and made sense I enjoyed the atmosphere and the setting it had a genuine Southern feel to it Wilmington, the town the story occurs in, was not just a generic town but had it s own personality I [...]

    7. Ashley Wilkes, historic building preservationist, becomes involved in another murder mystery in Wilmington, NC She s troubled by her boyfriend s lack of contact for a few months and her sister s usual high handed ways Actors from a popular TV show are gathered in Wilmington for filming and when one of them dies there are few who mourn Ashley s curious nature gets her in trouble, as usual, and the story takes a frightening turn Overall another satisfying book in the series.

    8. In this the third Ashley Wilkes book, Nick is back helping out with the grisley discovery of the bodies of 3 young men Back again are the rest of the cast of characters from the previous 2 books Binkie, Melanie, Jon and all the rest Quick, light read, altho I did figure out who the villian was well before the end of the book Altho I didn t know what the reason for the murders were at first.

    9. Love these books.ke the area they are set in, these books are so quaint Even the murders have a southern themeis one an actress is killed using Azalea leaves as a tea They are just a really light.ry quick read I can normally finish one in about 2.5 hours, so they take very little focus.
