    1. This story started out engaging enough Viola is living as the daughter of an estate manager Julian is the young lord whose family hers serves They grew up together as children, but eventually had to put an end to their friendship, as society dictated Now, they are reunited and their childhood affection has been replaced with an adult attraction That might have been something they could fight or ignore, until dangerous circumstances thrust them together, destroying all but the pretense of proprie [...]

    2. Also posted HERE.This is a really great series, set in the Georgian era and based around the concept the Old Pretender had children who are now secretly living in or around the English aristocracy If they can be found, they can be dangerous to the monarchy One side wants to use them to gain power and destabilise the country, while the other the Emperors of the series title want to keep them safe usually by marrying them so they re taken out of the equation. The book starts a little suddenly, and [...]

    6. Dilemma In Yellow Silk is 5 in The Emperors of London series, but can be read as a stand alone I would suggest reading the series in its entirety It is an awesome series The Emperors of London , are a family who are capitivating as well as intriguing, who are determined to make sure the Pretenter does not win his bid to retake the thrown of Britain The Emperors of London strive to protect the unsuspecting political pawns The King s unsupecting true heirs to the throne , keep peace, keep Britain [...]

    7. Dilemma in Yellow Silk is the 5th book in the Emperors of London series by Lynne Connolly I haven t read any of the previous books and can say that this book can easily be read as a stand alone one.The story revolves around Viola Gates She is known as the daughter of of the land steward for Lord Malton, Marcus Aurelius She and Marcus were great friends when they were growing up, but when he was just 9 years old, Marcus father sent him away, one of the reasons for that being that he wanted to kee [...]

    8. Previously reviewed on The Good, The Bad, and The Unread I m loving my regular encounters with the Emperors of London and their various friends and relations not to mention their enemies So far they ve never failed to deliver on adventure and intrigue, and, obviously, romance I m particularly enamoured of the glimpses we also get of differing strands of society often with a definite small s and how they relate and react to those in the higher echelons of Society definitely with a capital S This [...]

    9. WARNING This novel contains several scenes of a sexual nature and I would not recommend this novel to anyone under the age of 18 for this reason If those scenes are not your cup of tea, it is just as easy to skip over them without feeling like you ve lost anything I feel like I should begin my review by saying two things right off the bat One this is pretty much a stand alone novel What I mean by pretty much is that while this is the first in this series that I have personally read, I didn t fee [...]

    10. And it s the fifth book in Lynne Connolly s historical romance series, The Emperors of London This can definitely be read as a standalone, but if you want the juicy behind the scene information of what has been found and collected, since it is a somewhat mystery ongoing series with action and call for danger, then do read the first books but then of course you absolutely don t have to for this book.If you know me, I absolutely adore childhood friends to lovers stories and this is one of them tha [...]

    13. I received an eARC of this book in return for my honest review This was my first book by Lynne Connolly and I thoroughly enjoyed it This book was book 5 in the The Emperors of London series Now, I have to go back and read the first four because I really enjoyed the characters from those books who were also included in this one I really liked all of the characters None of them started out as jerks and got their HEA through their redemption They were all likeable from the beginning and the point o [...]

    14. Book 5 in the series Taking place during the Jacobite and the young pretender Book 5 in the series This is a story that Lynne uses great information Lynne uses history that is accurate for the time But Lynne uses her imagination to draw you into the story This story is about Viola and Marcus Marcus is an Earl , heir to a Marquess Viola and Marcus have known each other since they were young around 8 years old Viola has loved Marcus since that time Marcus has spent his time in London once he gets [...]

    16. Book five, Dilemma In Yellow Silk by Lynne Connolly, is as fresh and captivating as the first book in this author s Emperors of London series The continued intrigue of the Pretender and his on going bid to retake the thrown of Britain plays out as the Emperors of London strive to keep peace and protect unsuspecting political pawns A hero who maintains a dutiful stance to his responsibilities and a heroine with an unbreakable spirit take on numerous challenges in order to claim their love With he [...]

    17. Unlike the previous books in the series this one was an easy and quick read for me I would have liked to see romance between the two main characters because I felt that it was lacking on that area I am getting tired of seeing one of the emperors falling in love with a child of the Jacobite king It feels as if the story repeats itself and I don t think that any reader would like a repeating plot for the a series to read People always seem to discover that are children of that king and always run [...]

    18. Recd this book free for an honest review Enjoyed this story very much initially, then both H h seemed to become somewhat whiny and shrewish in the middle, though they found their way back to the HEA in the end The story stands alone, though it seems to be part of a series, which may explain why some characters don t feel fully fleshed out, or perhaps were edited There is a lot of passion between the H h.

    19. This is book 5 in the The Emperors of London Series and my first book by Lynne Connolly I really enjoyed it It was a very entertaining read.Viola Gates have been in love with Marcus since they were both very young There are a lot of twists and turns and the romance between them is very nice The historical aspects are accurate and make the read interesting.I received a copy by the publisher via NetGalley for an honest review.

    20. I liked how honest Marcus could be, he burned He flicked his gaze over her I want you, Viola, he said baldly I can t think of a better way to say it I am at the edge of my control You are lovely, intelligent, utterly desirable I liked this I loved Marcus he could be so patient but he was so passionate as well.
