    1. 3.5 starsIntroduction Now, I will be honest here I knew that the Hardy Boys existed in various books for decades now, but I was never able to pick up the series until just recently or at least pick up a modern day take on the classic book series in graphic novel format So, when I heard that Scott Lobdell, who was known for writing many superhero comic books in the past, was writing this series, I just had to see for myself what this series was all about What is this story about In this volume, [...]

    2. OMG I LOVE THE GRAPHIC NOVEL VERSION Except that I never imagined the boys as boys I always think of them as grownup hot geeks LOL Yeah, I loved the story and their adventure to Osyria Such a nice short read I guess better than Batman Detective

    3. Personaly I like the Hardy Boys comic better than the Nancy Drew one Just because the Hardy Boys is so much funnier.

    4. Read the real Hardy Boys books by Franklin W Dixon The graphic novel which I was required to read was a dry read nothing like the originals.

    5. Scott Lobdell was the main X Men writer for the 90 s So I basically grew up on his comics, since Marvel s mutants were my favorite characters. So I try not to miss any chance to sample any work that came after his X Men years Although, I almost missed his take on the Hardy Boys.I saw soft cover copies at my nearest National Bookstore but I was holding out for a hardback But chance came at the 2008 Comic Con International in San Diego I got to meet Scott Lobdell at the Papercutz booth I got to tha [...]

    6. The first story in the Hardy Boys graphic novel series finds the Hardy Boys beloved pal Chet Morton charged with trying to buy an expensive artifact off an online auction site In many ways, the book tries to strike a middle ground between the traditional Hardy Boys story We get a secret government agency and we also get traditional chapter breaks like it was an actual mystery novel The art is vibrant making for a fun read We also get to see Joe and Frank s girlfriends taking an active part in th [...]

    7. The boy detectives are back, this time is full color Frank and Joe have a new set of adventures, from a runaway stolen horse to friends getting arrested to getting friendly withcomputer hackers Chet has been accused to stealing a valuable necklace through an online auction, and the Hardy Boys are determined to find out the story behind the whole scheme.Very technology savvy and loaded , this story is a page turner until the end The artwork is a bit sloppy and several pictures are lost in the gut [...]

    8. An enjoyable and accessible start to this Hardy Boys adaptation This one has been adapted for the 21st century with a modern storyline involving computer fraud and jewelry theft The novel also features a good deal of globetrotting, and the plot is intriguing if hardly believable The artwork is manga style but it still works fine for the story s brisk pace Of course, it has an agreeable amount of action, suspense, and innocent humor The updated setting works fine, but the author feels forced to [...]

    9. Teen detectives Joe and Frank Hardy are back with new stories in graphic novel format Stories are updated and sophisticated than the traditional series if a bit too reality stretching Joe and Frank travel to Paris and the Middle East, using cells phones, PDAs, and the internet to track down a missing historical artifact The full color art reflects the popular manga style The high adventure and comic style should pull reluctant readers in quickly if they can follow the rapid storyline and someti [...]

    10. This is the first in this series of Hardy Boys graphic novels On the minus side, the artwork is less to my taste than in some of the later books On the plus side, it actually includes some of the brothers s friends from the original or at least 1959 vintage novels Chet, Iola, and Callie On the neutral side, the boys aren t part of ATAC yet, just freelancing that gives them an uneasy relationship with the government.Finished 2010 02 22 22 22 EST.

    11. I was so overjoyed when I discovered the Hardy Boys were now in graphic novels One thing I wasn t too keen on was the anime drawing style, but I decided to ignore that and it really worked out SO I really got to enjoy some new cheesy adventures and mysteries, and I get to relive an awesome series that I almost hated and never wanted to read in the first place, back when I hated books Look at me now XD

    12. Not entirely sure what I think about this Hardy Boys reboot The illustrations make the story fun, but the storyline lacks realism even if it s packed in adventure What kept this from being a two star book was the addition of Iola and Callie Loved seeing the girls as something than just dating material as they ve been throughout so many of the original books Love that Chet is still a bumbling idiot.

    13. Interesting to read The Hardy Boys as a graphic novel The story is updated to be modern, the style is fun, but I did feel that it lacked substance and detail Maybe that is the nature of easy reader graphic novels I would definitely recommend it to a reluctant chapter book style reader though.

    14. It almost seems sacreligious to say I giggled my way through this book. But I totally did.Iola s clueless star hunger , Callie s genius, Joe hackingOh my.I was distracted initially by Frank and Joe both being smart good grades etc but quickly fell back into the swing of it Made me giggle Pictures were so so.

    15. A lot of great stuff in this HB graphic novel My whole detailed, non spoilerish review can be read Hardy and Drew Mysteries

    16. It was a really good book It is probably the fastest read that I have ever read I recommend this book for people under the age of 15 It is the kind of book that a fifth grader should be reading. It is not the kind of book an adult should read it is way to easy.

    17. So at the start Frank and Joe are trying to catch a horse And they end up in like the desert searching for a necklace I liked this book because it has a lot of adventure I would recommend this book to people who like mysteries.

    18. I like the drawing and the plot of this book I feel like there were some part that were kind of irrelevant to the story Love how the brothers risk to save their friend.

    19. I liked this book it was a fun book to read It taught me that it is nice to help friends I would encourage anyone to read this book This book is also a detective book.

    20. I couldn t finish it This was a graphic novel format Sometimes I couldn t tell who was talking maybe it didn t matter Hardy Boys may be out of my appreciation range.
