    2. I like the first book in this series, and this second installment did not disappoint It was wonderful to see into the mind of the stoic Will Canfield and see a slow burn love develop between him and Tomasina Stone To be honest, I wasn t sure HOW they were going to end up together because they each just seemed too set in their own ways Fortunately, Ms Shackelford was able to wrap everything up in a believable and satisfying way. There was an amusing bit where one of the Bride Train women makes fun [...]

    6. This is the middle book in the Cowboy Creek trilogy, so it had some continuing plot lines from the first book and provided a set up for the next book The town is still being harassed by a gang of outlaws and discover some paperwork problems that don t fit the gang s MO which opens the field of suspicion Daniel and Will also order a bride for their recalcitrant friend Noah, and she arrives in the following book. The contrast between Will and Tomasina is what stood out to me in this story At first [...]

    8. Tom and Will are absolutely perfect for one another I really enjoyed taking the journey with them as they both found the path that God intended for them. This story has a very unique take on the abandoned baby story line I suspected after reading the first book in the series that a surprise baby would be joining the town I even knew who the mother would be When I started to read this book, I was pleased that I was right That being said, the twists and turns that were taken to solve that mystery w [...]

    9. A baby found at your door can change all things in your life This story follows the adventures of the man who takes the baby in his determination to find out whose baby it is Through all this, he meets a woman who he falls for and he finds the Mother of the baby along the way.

    10. Tomasina, aka Texas Tom, is most comfortable on horseback, driving cattle to market Hotel owner Will is all about civilization, building a town on the frontier and running for office Opposites attract in a fun story with a dash of mystery.

    11. This was a delightful story with a great collection of characters each unique and enjoyable to read about Set in a fictional Kansas cow town laced with all the details of a real city of its day, it could have been Abilene in 1871 My only complaint and I don t know if this was the author or her big city, non country, editor but in one scene, the words bull and steer were used as synonyms When it comes to cattle, a bull is a male that continues to have all the equipment needed to reproduce A steer [...]

    12. What to do when one finds a baby on your doorstep, find the mother of course Will is a single man who isn t looking for love or a family but opens his door to find a bundle of joy The cattle drive is coming to town and as a founding father of the town he must be ready for that and to meet the new brides coming into town Story had plenty of twists and turns to keep you reading and nothing worked out as it seemed.

    13. Great funI absolutely love this series and especially Tom and Will s story Two total opposites find everything they need in each other I love a strong female lead and Tom fits the bill.

    14. I am so glad that I chose this series to start with, after having read similar books by different authors they were poorly written and I never read one again until I decided to try it again with this series I really enjoyed the first book, I love all the characters I really enjoyed this book as well, I m glad they made Texas Tom to be a strong, independent Woman I hate when they are always a damsel in distress With that being said, Texas Tom is alot like myself so I m glad this author made a cha [...]

    15. A charming look at life right after the civil war, how the towns were built in that era, the power structure of those communities, and their fight for survival against all the dangers surrounding them Even though being a second book in the series, there s enough repetition of the events from the previous book, I believe this could be read as a standalone story I was intrigued by Will in the previous book, and I was excited to get a chance to read his story Will and Tomasina can seem as total opp [...]

    16. SHE D LEAD HIM ON A MERRY CHASE FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFEI enjoyed this second book in the Cowboy Creek series, each written by a different author but sharing the theme joined by a town who brought in several mail order brides The story comes with lots of mystery, suspense, and secrets With an abandoned baby, cattle drovers, mysterious females, questionable neighbors and townsfolk, outlaws, robberies, romance and weddings, this edition will keep the reader enthralled and the pages turning The plo [...]

    17. I LOVE it when the characters are so mismatched that you would never put them together normally but, the author does an amazing job of fashioning a story that is effortless to where the characters HAVE to be together This is the case with this story Will and Tomasina are such opposites that their interactions are hilarious and so much fun to read I had a hard time putting this book down I am loving this series of Cowboy Creek Will is a serious man who helped found the town of Cowboy Creek He s q [...]

    18. I loved this story by Sherri Shackelford Will Canfield and Tomasina Stone are perfect for each other, once they work through some things, like Texas Tom being a drover, and Will wanting to go into politics With an abandoned baby in the mix, I couldn t stop reading Will Canfield, Noah Burgess, and Daniel Gardner found Cowboy Creek after they get out of the war Tomasina drives a herd of cattle into Cowboy Creek Her pa had died on the trail Will finds an abandoned baby outside his door The Murdoch [...]

    20. This was my first book by Sherri Shackelford I m a big fan of historical fiction, at least of those authors who can interweave historical fact seamlessly within the fictional story I have to say that I enjoyed this book It was a nice, light historical romance with touches of humor throughout A book that can make me laugh is a winner in my opinion I would definitely read of Ms Shackelford s books.I received this book for free through the giveaway but the words of this review are my own.

    21. Love Cowboy CreekI love historical romance novels The people then did not have all the modern amenities we have now, but they seem to have love and caring for one another Loved the story of Will and Tomasina aka Texas Tom, Texas Tom was a cattle drover and Will was a gentlemen, such an unlikely pair But there difference brought them together Cannot wait to read Noah s story.

    22. A baby A rule loving town leader A tomboy drover Throw in a gang out for revenge, and it all combines to make a delightful love story I ve read one other book by this author, and I am delighted that her writing style hasn t changed Her characters are enjoyable, though the plot was a little unbelievable at times And though this is an inspirational book, it s not in your face about the religious details. This is a book that will stay on my shelf

    23. I won this book on It is a historical fiction book part of the cowboy creek series written by different authors Town Founder Will find a baby on his doorstep and hires the minister s daughter to watch it He is also dealing with cattle driver Tmasina Stone who has just lost her father and is trying to manage a group of drovers Will wants to stop a rodeo she has planned The time she spends in town the she wonders if she should stay.

    24. I enjoyed this very much It s the middle book of three in a companion series written by different authors that all take place in Cowboy Creek, KS I missed the first book but was able to enjoy this without having read the first A backstory that didn t get finished which bugs me will hopefully get tied up in the next last in the series.

    25. , the playful and witty exchanges between the hero and the feisty heroine are delightful Shackelford has nicely laid the foundation for Noah s story, which looks to be a doozy RT Book Reviews.Miniseries Cowboy Creek

    26. Hot damn As I was reading this, I almost couldn t believe what my mind gears were telling me 0.0 Kinda scandalous for a LIH, but it was well done Will and Tomasina s characters are firey and I love the sparks between them I can t wait to dig into the next book and see how it wraps up

    27. I could almost feel the vibrations from the cattle and hear the sounds I love reading a book that can transport you to a place and make you feel like you are actually there.
