    7. Copy provided by Young Adult Books CentralSince the original Tales from the Arabian Nights would include 1,001 stories, this is a well chosen selection of tales Napoli does a good job at balancing well known stories with obscure tales, and also frames the stories within the larger story of Scheherazade s precarious position as a new wife whose life could be cut short by the king at any moment It was great to have a solid retelling of old favorites Ali Baba, Aladdin, and Sinbad, but I was also g [...]

    11. While I thought this was generally a fun read, I didn t really like it I didn t really care about the stories, until the last two The only interesting thing that kept me reading this textbook sized book was the back story of the story teller Otherwise, the writing needed to be either exciting or spicy because it was stuck in the middle, doing itself no favors.2 5, skip it

    14. From the story I read it was an interesting story about two princes who s wives cheat on them with servants and then they believe they have the right to kill them It is one of those stories about how loyalties can be betrayed and also had mysticism in it as well I cannot knock this because it does have historical significance and his a myth from the past.

    15. Part of the National Geographic series combining folktales with fact boxes The facts presented in this volume are appropriate to the stories than those in other volumes of the series The seventeen stories themselves are varied The initial tales are stories within stories within stories all short I wished for detail to flesh out the plots The traditional tales, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves and Aladdin are well told Sinbad s seven voyages are reduced to 2 3 pages each, so not overwhelming a go [...]
