    1. One of my favorite childhood books, since long before I could understand half the words The story is told by one immigrant to another as they wait in line outside a New York bakery How did the bakery get so famous Well, it started back in the old country, with a poor family whose children decide to try their little hands at baking breadThe storytelling is clever and well paced, and the barely colored illustrations match the tone perfectly.

    2. One of my favorite books as a child My version of this book is beat up and battered but I read it to my kids anyways They enjoy the book also
