    1. Swift s done it again she s written an interesting, gripping, historically respectful tale bringing the seventeenth century to life This is the third and final novella in The Highway Trilogy, which started with Shadow on the Highway, followed by Spirit of the Highway both good reads on their own and this book brings all the plots to a satisfying maybe a bit bittersweet conclusion I d advise potential readers to read these books in order because you ll enjoy and understand the characters and thei [...]

    2. Time and time again I come back to Deborah Swift s writing, and time and time again I am so riveted that I cannot put her work down Her ability to weave a scene is almost second to none, and after travelling with some of these characters for a while, I m really invested in them and want the best for them not that they ll always get it Lady of the Highway is the third and last part of a trilogy, and although it s sad to see it end, the journey through this last part is so exciting that it s well [...]

    3. I enjoyed this than the second book in the trilogy but still rate the first one as the best, despite this third instalment being narrated by my favourite member of the cast list.Katherine Fanshawe, one of history s less remembered personages, is a fascinating individual Here, of course, the author relies greatly on her imagination to bring Kate to life, owing to limited resources on the sometime highwaywoman s life In many ways this is a good thing as it offers the story greater scope Lady of t [...]

    4. Lady of the Highway is Book 3 in The Highway Trilogy Series, though it does work as a standalone I highly recommend going to the beginning and starting with Shadow on the Highway and Spirit of the Highway.I was first introduced to Deborah Swift with her book The Lady s Slipper and fell in love with her writing style As a writer of the historical fiction she steers clear of the well known characters and gives the reader a vivid glimpse into the lifestyle of everyday folks Though her previous book [...]

    5. This is the third book in the Highway Trilogy, and is every bit as good as the last two As I have a terrible memory I am probably the ideal person to review series I could remember next to no details about the last two books, but this episode is so well put together that it could be read as a stand alone I d suggest reading the first two as well, though, simply because they re so good It s YA, but, as with the other two parts, I wasn t that aware of it being a book for teenagers which would have [...]

    6. In this third of a trilogy about Katherine Fanshawe, the royalists are finished and Cromwell has an iron hold on the country Being on the wrong side has landed Ms Swift s heroine into an impossible situation where starvation is a possibility and yet the alternative to invite a group of Diggers to live in her empty house and work the land is a choice she comes to regret It seems no one can forget their origins and hatred is too ingrained to reason away. Her stepfather returns to England, and force [...]

    7. I ve got this book from NetGalley in exchange of an honest review I liked the idea of this book and the setting around 1650 , because I m interested in strong females in that time period and this book has a potential to be great However I was disappointed, because the main character reminded me of a headless chicken running around in all directions, she did things without thinking and put not only herself, but also her friends in danger and let them take the blame for her Finally it got to the p [...]

    8. I received this as an ARC from NetGalley I kept having to remind myself that this is classified as a YA book It was a very simple story I kept waiting for to do with this woman who was a highway thief but there were very few instances I expected when that was the premise and the story is based around this idea And the addition of the paranormal was a strange addition It was a historical fiction but then it seemed to add the ghost spirit element as a second thought It was a fast read and satisf [...]

    9. I thought this was the best book out of the series Fast paced with a couple of surprises added, and a great, but sad ending to close out the series.

    10. I was given the chance to read this book and I was asked to do an honest review My heart went out for Kate You have a young woman who was pretty much sold into marriage then left high and dry by her husband No one likes the family so there is no real help This story gave the reader a very good idea what it was like after the English Civil War during the 1600s This is the first book of Ms Swift s I have read and I was very impressed trying to pull in history of a real person into a historical fic [...]
