    1. This is my newest and largest collection So for all you people who complain that my books are too short, this one s for you Plus I m totally giving it 5 stars because I was reading through it the other day and it was making me laugh at stuff that I forgot I wrote You heard right sometimes I crack myself up.

    2. Kevin Sampsell is the kind of author I respect and appreciate He has run his own independent publishing company for many years, publishing both his work and that of other authors whose work he appreciates Sampsell works hard to promote quality independent literature And in addition to that, the guy can write His stories really touch on the humanity of his characters and make you feel for them and understand their characters insecurities, proclivities, nerdiness, perversions, etc Also, he s prett [...]

    3. A cornucopia of strange stories Each story is concocted with finely tuned details and dialogue so real it had me looking up just to see if I was still reading, or if I was hearing things This book is inspiring for both readers and writers The craft of short story at its best.

    4. Another knockout collection of stories from a man with a vivid, twisted imagination Somebody said his stories are like Raymond Carver edited by Steve Martin I agree with the Raymond Carver part, but I d say he s like Raymond Carver if Carver wrote stories about anal sex with homeless people and men losing pubic hair due to voodoo.

    5. I m reading I just finished the short section and now I m into the medium Several of these stories in the short some of the best things I ve read by Kevin Sampsell I think his book A Common Pornography is pretty great Other stories have twist endings and kind of jerky puns, which I enjoy for their corniness I m glad these stories were included in this collection.I just finished this book last week There are a some beautifully dirty stories in it Overall I was struck by the sense I guess of hones [...]

    6. This book really inspired me.I struggle with writing short fiction, and want to so desperately ,so I am always on the lookout for inspiration.Sampsell is able to do so in these wonderful bright, awake little bursts of sparks and fluff stories ranging in size from small to large Sometimes smug, sometimes sweet, maybe a bit sarcastic , and definatley a celebration of the absurdity of everything although I am unsure as to weather they were intended as such Definitely makes me want to finish that sto [...]

    7. For some reason, I kept feeling like I was getting away with something when I was reading these stories Like perhaps my parents were going to bust in at any moment and take the book away from me, even though I m in my mid thirties now I don t even know why I felt that I couldn t point to anything particular in the stories, but I kept getting that feeling Regardless, I loved these stories It s difficult to sort out what exactly I was feeling, because I was usually feeling multiple contradictory t [...]

    8. Kevin Sampsell s writing is wonderful in that everytime I begin one of his stories, I never know what to expect He is not predictable, and he writes equally about harsh realities that are too familiar as well as things bordering on the surreal I like how he split the book into short, medium, and long stories It actually helped get me through the book because I usually have a hard time finishing short story anthologies.

    9. the long awaited is upon us creamy bullets is the largest batch of sampsell with all sizes and shapes to fit any occasion his stories can be whimsical and frightening, honest and deviant, beautiful and uncomfortable its like staring at the awkward inside of us all, unable to sit still favorites salmon, don t eat paper, i rest between them, reunion, jaibreaker, remembering her wait, who am i kidding, most of the bullets feel good going in.

    10. I love Kevin s ability to get across the minute details of relationships and conversations he makes it seem like your friend is telling you a story before you head out for the night My favorite part is in parentheses it had a drawing of a chicken on it This book was the most well written book I ve read this year.

    11. Kevin S is a solid writer with the ability to make the reader feel comfortable even when reading his weirdest, darkest pieces He veers, in very straightforward and yet often lyrical language, from a genuine but not sentimental innocence to completely warped, and yet never contrived, in his storytelling I m a fan.

    12. This was a bracing little breath of fresh air Each story was invigorating like when one jumps in a pool that is a bit too cold but by the end you ve adjusted to the temperature and don t want to get out Also, I envy many of Sampsell s opening lines.

    13. Sampsell s voice is by turns smart, odd, funny and moving I d say the first section, of the smaller, flash length stories, were my favorite, but I highly recommend this collection to anyone who loves innovative and surprising fiction.

    14. I really liked this book It was different from anything else I ve read and I like supporting a local author I m definitely a member of the Kevin Sampsell fan club now I look forward to reading .

    15. I m still chewing over a couple of the stories, but let s just go ahead and review this one I really like KS s writing style The stories fall on the character sketch end of the story continuum, but it s interesting because they re stories mainly told in the first person by people who don t seem to enjoy talking about themselves It s not that they re not self aware, there s just a who gives a shit, I m boring myself vibe under just about every story, which I really enjoyed And he uses this voice [...]

    16. I first heard of Kevin Sampsell by reading a Future Tense book, and assumed if the author he published was this good then KS probably knew a thing or two about writing.I had never read any of Kevin s work before buying the ebook, so I had no idea what to expect But it was defiantly rewarding Some of the stories made me feel uncomfortable, others, I felt I could relate to And by the end of each one, I wanted to know what was going to happen next.None of his stories have the same voice to them, an [...]

    17. too few of the stories are good.far fewer of the stories are great.unfortunately, a lot of the stories are kitzch some are a set up for a punchline that isn t worth a guffaw some are edgy as tho replicating that all too common illness of academia trying to assimilate Bukowski.but a few of the stories are goodd too many fewer of the stories are greatill, it is something every writer should strive to accomplish and most never will not even with 1 out of 100 stories and it is what every reader shou [...]

    18. I m torn between 3 and 4 stars, but I ll err on the side of 4 Some of the stories in here were flat out awesome Gripping in their intensity of character, delicious in their plot twists And this collection is pretty much all about the twists I do like twists, but in measure, and so several of the stories felt bungled for the love of these quirks The story couldn t pull me in, as a result And while interesting, it s not as satisfying Bottom line, I am intrigued enough to read of Sampsell s work, [...]

    19. very good book of short stories divided into short medium long Lots of sex and slightly dirty stuff that s twisted enough to be interesting and sharp enough to confuse narrative space not rating it, as i m doing a review of it, but i do recommend it.

    20. I feel like I ve reviewed this before, and maybe I didn t give it five stars the first time, or maybe I did I just read it again for the second time a few months ago It s worth reading twice This is my favorite of all of Sampsell s books.

    21. Solid writing and great storytelling, I enjoyed this collection a lot The longer pieces for me, where the best ones Congrats Kevin
